Montane wax is a type of bituminous wax that is obtained by solvent extraction of certain types of lignite, such as Saxony and Thuringia. It is also known as lignite wax or OP wax.
Its color ranges from dark brown to light yellow. It is characterized by its high hardness.
One of the most used methods for the application of montana waxes is through non-ionic aqueous emulsions, giving them an excellent shine and increasing their hardness.
Applications: polishes for floors, polishes for footwear.
